(Formerly known as the Alaska MTB Summit.)
Our steering committee realized that using the word "Mountain Bike" and "MTB" had inadvertently left out fat bikers, bikepackers, gravel riders, cyclocross-ers, and other Alaskan off-road cyclists. To correct that oversight we have chosen to use the term "Off-Road Cycling" instead. Also, it makes a cool acronym.
Better Communication and More Collaboration.
Alaskans have created amazing off-road cycling communities, but have largely been working in isolation. The Alaska Off-Road Cycling Summit invites all Alaskan off-road cycling advocates, MTB trail clubs, race directors, bike shops, land managers, youth cycling organizers, group ride leaders, and trail enthusiasts for a weekend to share, encourage, and learn from each other.
Our goal is to create an Alaskan Off-Road Cycling Alliance "ORCA."
Join us at Hilltop Bike Park in Anchorage for a weekend of seminars, panel discussions, small groups, and social networking. Our goal is to educate and empower all aspects of Alaska's off-road cycling community.
